Famiglie SMA is an Italian association of parents of children affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy and adults affected by the same pathology. It is a non-profit organization, which was founded in 2001 and is officially affiliated with Families of SMA (USA).
It supports families with information on the disease, rehabilitation equipment and techniques and state-funded assistance; it promotes best management practices, including non-invasive respiratory protocols; it raises funds for therapy-oriented research and promotes the organisation of clinical trials. |
