Its charitable objectives are:
- to increase and promote public awareness and understanding of SMA diseases in Hong Kong
- to provide financial support and assistance to needy SMA victims and their families so that they can continue to seek proper medical help, acquire medical equipment and other professional assistance
- to support and fund on-going medical research to find an early cure and treatment of SMA diseases which is presently not available to victims
- to start a Central Registry of SMA patients in Hong Kong for the enhancement of research information and communication
The ultimate goal of the Trust is to help the SMA victims and their families to cope with the devastation of SMA and to find an early treatment and cure for this terrible disease
